Donations will help the Bay Area Rescue Mission provide 20,000 meals for those in need of food during a six-week period. Meals are served 365 days per year to residents in the nonprofit’s shelters and to unhoused people in the area and those on the verge of being homeless.
Donations will help Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa serve 2,000 warm holiday meals at its dining rooms and provide $10 grocery gift cards for 350 clients who cannot afford food.
Donations will help St. Vincent De Paul of Contra Costa County provide $75 holiday food-gift cards to 200 needy families — about 800 people — struggling to pay for basic items — milk, diapers, fresh produce or ingredients for special holiday meals.
Donations will help the Food Bank of Solano and Contra Costa obtain, transport and distribute food to hundred of thousands of people monthly through direct service programs. The food bank says it can provide two meals for every dollar contributed.
