Bert Robinson is Senior Editor for the Bay Area News Group, overseeing the newsrooms of The Mercury News and East Bay Times. He joined The Mercury News as a summer intern in 1983. Robinson reported in San Jose City Hall, the California State Capitol in Sacramento, and Washington, D.C. before making a move to management, where he has held a variety of jobs overseeing the news organization’s coverage of government and politics and of Silicon Valley’s high-tech businesses, among other areas. He is secretary of the Board of Directors of Wish Book and Share the Spirit, and lives in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose with his wife, Robin Doran, a vice president at the regional thinktank Joint Venture Silicon Valley.
