Grant eligibility is contingent on cooperation with members from the Bay Area News Group. Grantee agrees to generate story ideas regarding individual participants and organizational activities for coverage by the Bay Area News Group media outlets and collaborate with Bay Area News Group personnel in producing these stories for a profile in the newspaper. Funds should be acknowledged in any media as a grant from the Share the Spirit, a program of the East Bay Times. Tax acknowledgment letters may be sent to Bay Area News Group - Share the Spirit, PO Box 2127, Dublin, CA 94568. Share the Spirit may include information about the award of the grant, including the grantee’s name, in its periodic reports, and may make such information available on its website and as part of press releases, public reports, speeches, newsletters, tax returns and other public disclosures. The grant funds shall be used solely for the project/purpose as described in the grant application submitted by the grantee, which is incorporated into this agreement by this reference. The grant funds up to the amount of grant requested shall be so designated and restricted.

Grants will be distributed on March 2026 when the campaign has concluded. Any portion of the grant funds not used for agreed use presented in the application is subject to return, unless a written request for change of use is received and approved by Share the Spirit. Funding from this grant is restricted to use in Alameda and/or Contra Costa Counties.

Anti-discrimination and/or inclusion policies were agreed to in the application stage. Checking here means your organization can still meet those policies.

If your program includes distribution of gift cards, we require that you keep a detailed internal log with the names of the clients receiving the cards and maintain these records with your agency financial documents (do not need to send the list with final report) for a minimum of three years.

A grant report must be submitted by June 2, 2026. The report is an assessment of how the grant was used by your organization and its impact to the community. The report form will be posted at sharethespiriteastbay.org/final-grant-report/ after January 2026.

I, the authorized representative of the grantee, consent to, and authorize, the use of electronic means for conducting transactions between the Share the Spirit and the grantee, including the use of electronic signatures. By typing in the Name and Title of the authorized representative of the grantee and the date, the grantee is accepting the terms and conditions of this agreement.
